FREE Crochet Pattern: UNI-CORN Amigurumi

6

I LOVE unicorns. (Who doesn’t?!)

They are the coolest mythical creature, by far. (I mean, they poop rainbows!)

So today I have for you, my version of the unicorn: a UNI-CORN.

ACORN

What is a UNI-CORN? It’s a fluffy kernel of popcorn with a unicorn’s rainbow horn! The UNI-CORN is the coolest popcorn friend you will ever have! With a rainbow horn and magical popping-powers, the UNI-CORN will be your new favorite amigurumi toy. Crochet his horn in whatever magical colors you’d like and assemble his fluffies sporadically so he looks like he’s just been popped!

Materials List

size H crochet hook

yellow yarn (I used Caron brand yarn)

black yarn (used for face)

stuffing

yarn needle

scissors

5 rainbow colors of yarn (I used, red, orange, green, blue and purple in varying brands)

Notes
Pattern is worked in continuous rounds.
An inc is made by working 2 sc in the same st.
I use an invisible dec which is made by inserting your hook into front loops only of next 2 stitches, yarn over, pull through 2 loops on hook, yarn over, pull through final 2 loops on hook, counts as 1 sc.

Assembly
It’s easier to do the face before you start assembly, so start by sewing the face with black yarn, following the picture.
Stuff corn top and match with corn bottom. (Think of it like you’re putting a lid on a jar!)
Sew bottom onto top, stuffing as you go.
Add corn fluff one by one, alternating large and small fluffs. Vary heights slightly so it doesn’t look too uniform. Stuff fluffs before sewing onto main section of corn.
Cut a 6” section of red yarn (or whatever color you started your horn with) and sew horn directly over face, making sure it’s centered.

Happy crocheting!
