Wonder Crochet Blanket CAL 2016: Section 13

Woohoo! It’s time for my section of the Wonder Crochet Blanket CAL!

I’ve been waiting for this moment for quite a while now ūüėČ

My section of the blanket has particular meaning to me. I created it as an homage to my Grandma, who taught me how to crochet.

My Grandma is an AWESOME crocheter. She was a great teacher and I owe my love of crochet to her! (Thanks Grandma! <3)

So today I’m sharing my part of the blanket with you, but I’m also sharing a part of my crochet journey…so thank you for taking this journey with me!

Just a reminder: you should be using an I/5.5mm hook (or your equivalent) and worsted weight. For my sample, I used various Loops and Threads Impeccable colors.

Okay, let’s get started!

Depending on what section you chose to do for #12, you’ll have either a row of sc, hdc, or dc as your last row.

If your last row left you with the wrong¬†side facing you, then you’re good to go! If it left you with the right¬†side, do a row of hdc before you begin the pattern below.

sk – skip

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

hdc – half double crochet

dc – double crochet

fpdc – front post double crochet

fptr – front post treble crochet

bpdc – back post double crochet

BLO – back loops only

FLO – front loops only

Turning chains do NOT count as a stitch throughout. Repeats are in ( ).

R1: (right side) ch2, turn, (in BLO, 1 dc each in next 4 stitches; sk next st, in next st: 2dc, 2ch, 2dc; sk next st, in BLO, 1 dc each in next 4 stitches) repeat ( ) until end

R2: ch2, turn, (4hdc, ch1, sc in 2ch from last round, ch1, 4hdc) repeat ( ) until end

R3: ch2, turn, (in BLO, 1 dc each in next 4 stitches, skip the ch1, in sc from last round: 2hdc, ch1, 2hdc; skip next st; in BLO, 1 dc each in next 4 stitches) repeat ( ) until end

R4: ch2, turn, (4hdc, hdc in 1st hdc from cluster in last round, skip one hdc, hdc in ch, skip one hdc, hdc in 2nd hdc from cluster in last round, 4hdc) repeat ( ) until end

R5: ch2, turn, dc in each stitch across

R6: ch2, turn, (in FLO, 1 dc each in next 5 stitches, fptr, in FLO, 1 dc each in next 5 stitches) rep ( ) until end

R7: ch2, turn, (5bpdc, fpdc, 5bpdc) rep ( ) until end

R8: ch2, turn, hdc in each stitch across

That’s it!

I hope you enjoy this part of the Wonder CAL. Please feel free to comment below or email me with any questions! (

Happy Crocheting!
